Products Gasketing sheets and Gaskets Expanded graphite

Flexigraf FGS4

FLEXIGRAF FGS4 is a gasketing sheet for flat gaskets made from pure expanded mineral graphite, reinforced with a smooth AISI 316L stainless steel foil insert. The composition, based on pure graphite and reinforced with steel, offers superior sealing grip, mechanical strength and ductility. Ideal for use with high-temperature saturated steam and aggressive chemicals, provided the environment is non-oxidising.

High thermal resistance: graphite is known for its electrical conductivity and low thermal conductivity, making it suitable for applications involving high-temperature saturated steam.

Superior stability and flexibility: the 316L stainless steel backing sheet provides a solid structure, giving the gasket additional mechanical strength and stability, thereby improving its performance in the most demanding applications.

Excellent workability: easy to die-cut and CNC-cut, ensuring precision even for complex geometries.

High resistance to high temperatures and pressures: Reinforced graphite flat gaskets are suitable for use in environments with high temperatures and pressures, as well as offering good chemical resistance. Some of the main applications include: the chemical and petrochemical industries, for sealing in aggressive environments where resistance to chemicals is crucial. They are ideal for use in plants operating with saturated and superheated steam, or in applications requiring materials capable of withstanding very high temperatures without losing their mechanical properties.

Operating temperature: up to +550°C depending on the type of fluid, the pressure and the applied load.
