Micatherm® S15 is a flexible mica gasketing sheet for flat gaskets, made of phlogopite, a mineral-based phosphosilicate with a lamellar structure, reinforced with a perforated AISI 316L stainless steel foil insert. Micatherm® S15 retains the characteristics of phlogopite mica, which, combined with silicone resin and reinforced by the perforated AISI 316L stainless steel insert, give the product excellent thermal, chemical and mechanical resistance.
High chemical resistance: it is ideal for situations where the use of graphite gaskets is not possible due to high temperatures or the presence of oxidising fluids.
Superior stability and flexibility: the perforated AISI 316L stainless steel backing sheet provides a solid structure, whilst the phlogopite mica and silicone resin confer flexibility and resistance to external agents.
Excellent workability: easy to die-cut and CNC-cut, ensuring precision even for complex geometries.
High resistance to high temperatures: ideal for applications requiring a prolonged airtight seal and resistance to high temperatures.
Operating temperature: up to +750°C depending on the type of fluid and the applied load.
